Wherever the colonial French landed, they left behind one amazing tradition: The chocolate croissant is to breakfast as an inside-the-park home run is to baseball--a uniquely sweet experience. The chocolate croissants from La Baguette are exceptionally large and fluffy. One may suffice for breakfast, but the diner will always want more. Inside each delicate delight is lots and lots of dark chocolate. Unlike with some other renditions of this French legacy, the chocolate is spread throughout the croissant, so every flavorful bite combines the special taste of pastry and cocoa. Nowhere in Tucson, or even on Rue Cler in Paris, can these croissants be matched. They are simply awe-inspiring.
