Best Noisy Place, But You Do Not Care, Because the Mole Is So Damn Good

Little Poca Cosa

Somewhere on the front window at Little Poca Cosa, there is a small sign warning customers that this is a cash-only kind of place, and that the staff likes loud music. And believe me: They aren't kidding. The stereo system blares out old rock 'n' roll, Latino folk music and tunes from some lesser-known bands. But once that plate of pollo mole negro is placed in front of you ... who cares? Use one of the warm corn tortillas to scoop up the fall-apart-tender white-meat chicken in the savory, dark mole sauce. Not too thick, not too thin, this is mole at its finest. You also get a beautiful salad, fruit slices, a pot of churro beans and fluffy Mexican rice. Open Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch only!
