STAFF PICK: Tucked inside the north end of the new Tucson Heart Hospital, FIT at the River is a full-service fitness/cardiac rehab facility on the north side. Operated by Todd Judge, who built up the Downtown FIT in La Placita and then sold it to Metro Fitness, FIT at the River bristles with energy. Weight machines, treadmills, EFX running stair-climbers and stationary bikes afford the health conscious a good workout, after which they can get a full-body massage from one of the staff of professionals. Judge is also a licensed instructor on the Pilates machine, which is the new, hot thing in exercise. A friendly, knowledgeable staff makes the exercise experience almost enjoyable. No, really. Judge himself is the most insufferable Arizona State fan in Tucson. We told him that to his face, but since he went to ASU, he thought it was a compliment.
