Let's be honest, shall we? Mexican fast-food establishments in Tucson are an important tradition and that tradition is especially important for late-night eats. BK's is a great spot for such after-bar, beer-soaking, good food. Nothing like a few caramelos or a plate full of asada, cabeza or pastor tacos to make the world seem like a better place. The old-school BK's on South 12th Avenue is open until 2:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and the newer spot on First Avenue closes on Fridays and Saturdays at midnight. Yes, you can get Sonoran hot dogs at BK's and they are good, but here's a recommendation that will seal the covenant between you and BK's forever—cabaeza torta, an asada caramelo and a Coke. Go home happy and live for the next weekend.
