The Shelter calls itself a "go-go boot-wearing, martini drinking, swanky, groovy lounge"—and after more than a half-century in business, it comes by its retro style honestly, without so much as a splash of phoniness or pretention. The cocktails are fun, the beer is cold, the music will bring back memories and you can always play pinball if nothing else is going your way. Order yourself an old-fashioned and imagine you're Don Draper for an hour or two.
