Our readers think KVOA Channel 4 offers "Coverage You Can Count On," edging out KGUN Channel 9 and KOLD Channel 13. Maybe they chose KVOA because it was the first broadcaster in our fair city to switch to high definition, giving lucky viewers crystal-clear visuals of every imperfection on the faces of public officials. Or maybe it has to do with "the talent," as they say in show business. An examination of Web biographies from competing news bimbos (no offense, ladies--we blame the corporate media environment) is most telling. KVOA's Kristi Tedesco has a bio that's heavy on past accomplishments; she uncovered a police scandal, child abuse and problems with prescription drugs manufactured by powerful pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. KGUN's Jennifer Waddell, meanwhile, loves NASCAR and making appearances around town with her Chihuahua, Brandi--kind of like Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. You do the math.
