Ballet Tucson wins for its splendid annual Nutcracker alone. Credit goes to supporters for funding a fully professional production, including professional dancers in key roles. Any town can put the kids onstage—perhaps the most important community service in dance—but BT makes sure families don't leave the theater thinking that's all there is. Ballet Tucson is a pro outfit, making its hometown proud and helping create future audiences for dance.
