Tucked into a strip mall on the northeast side of town, Ginza gives Tucsonans a chance to experience a trendy Japanese trend—izakaya. You've never heard of izakaya? Call it tapas, Japanese-style. Ginza offers a full array of izakaya dishes, along with some of the best sushi in the city. From shumai dumplings to items that are a tad more exotic—like, say, monkfish liver (ankimo)—it's all about supping and sharing. Wash it down with a Japanese beer while making sure your tablemates' glasses are never empty (another Japanese custom). This is conviviality with a twist.
