Antigone's website describes the place as "a zany bookstore with a feminist slant." That said, this is simply a great neighborhood store, reflecting the values and inherent optimism of an informed and engaged community. In addition to focusing on local, Southwestern, environmental and socially conscious authors, Antigone is also user-friendly for kids with its elephant couch, reading area and play corner. Also selling unique cards, calendars, journals and music, Antigone is everything you'd want your anti-big-box bookstore to be.
