Best Hike

Sabino Canyon

Sabino Canyon is beloved for both its beauty and proximity to town. Sabino's got a bunch of "best hikes," from a half-mile nature trail to mid-distance rambles like Seven Falls. (Warning to drunken college kids: Don't try it. Seems like every year, somebody does a header from heights best left un-headered from.) There are longer, steeper walks up Esperero Canyon; Phoneline Trail, with its rise in elevation, its wide range of flora and fauna and its spectacular view, just simply rocks. Sabino Canyon is paved for walkers--no cars allowed--but meandering on and off of short hiking trails is common and a good way to get the feel of the place.
