Stumbling around downtown on Friday and Saturday night you’ll find several spots to grab a hot dog. However, when Ricuras de Venezuela started serving arepas off of their food truck outside of Club Congress this year, the whole game changed. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside pita-like pockets made from masa are fried up fresh and stuffed with your choice of filling. While the juicy, flavorful pernil pork is probably the best on the menu, really, they’re all worth sinking your teeth into. Just don’t forget the handmade chiltepin-laced avocado and cilantro salsa.
