Best Double Feature
Here's our favorite one-two shopping combo: Stop by Santa Barbara Ice Creamery, 2502 N. Campbell Ave. (323-1231), for a scrumptious ice cream cone (check out the new low-sugar offerings if you're counting carbs) and then wander next door to the Book Stop, 2504 N. Campbell Ave. (326-6661), where we can always find something new to read. If you've got more time, continue strolling down Campbell to visit more of the independent merchants who are taking big steps to organize their shopping district. (And here's to Councilwoman Kathleen Dunbar for helping with new pedestrian crossings, banners and other assistance.)
