Cooler pads should be this city's official emblem: Without them, Tucson never would have grown beyond a dusty outpost. The cooler pads made locally at Miracle Breeze really are the best: They're much thicker than the outsourced pads from Big Box, and the euphoria of that first sweet aspen-scented breeze of the summer from the pads really is miraculous. The store hasn't changed since it opened in 1942 as Arizona Maintenance, except they put up a glowing green neon folly behind the building. They sell cooler parts, too, and the service is as helpful as it gets: If they can talk a total thumb-bumping knucklehead through completely rebuilding a cooler, they can help you, too.
