B-Sides: Tucson's Trans Van Santos

REARRANGING AND EXPANDING

Think of Tucson's Trans Van Santos as the universe and this Thursday, June 11 as proof of Hubble's Law. That's because the band will be filling out with an amped up line-up of musicians that frontman Mark Matos has collected from all over the west coast and beyond. Joining Matos in his dark and dreamy exploration of the desert sound will be members of The Myrrors, Saint Maybe, Carlos Arzate & The Kind Souls, L.A.'s The Blank Tapes and San Francisco's Family Folk Explosion, as well as some TVS regular players. You can expect to hear songs from the most recent Trans Van Santos release Moon Mirage and more in a whole new way.

Best of all, you can see the "Trans World Arkestra" free at the Flycatcher (340 E. Sixth St.) on Thursday. The show kicks off at 9 p.m. with Brooklyn-based This Frontier Needs Heroes. It is a 21 and over event.
