B-Sides: Stefan George Tribute

When Stefan George passed in August, Tucson truly lost a legend. His prolific, decades-long blues career saw him performing across the world to show off his technical expertise, which was enhanced by his own highly emotive style. To commemorate the life and music of this fantastic musician, several of George's close friends and fellow musicians will be playing a tribute show on what would have been George's 63rd birthday.

"Words and Music (mostly) by Stefan George" will present the legacy of this talented performer on Tuesday, Oct. 20. If weather permits, you can catch it on the Hotel Congress (311 E. Congress St.) patio, and, if not, inside in the club. Musicians including Tom Walbank, Jay Trapp & The Conrads, Danny Krieger and many more are signed up to reinterpret and resurrect George's music for this special event. The show runs from 6 until 10:30 p.m. The event is free, but donations will be accepted for the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association, which puts on the Tucson Folk Festival.
