It's the driving force behind your favorite song that makes you move, intentional or not—it's the beat. Well, this Friday, Dec. 4, you can learn more about the world of making beats at Pushing Buttons. The event will feature local producers showing their craft as well as a three-way beat battle between Gunky Knuckles, B3bni and Lasso. Beat sets for the night will also include CSD, Soundsmith, RND1, 80Eight and more with a live band performance from Headlock. The event will be hosted by Roch and resident DJ Phen.

You can check out Pushing Buttons at The Flycatcher (340 S. Sixth St.) on Friday starting at 9 p.m. The show is free to watch and it is a 21 and over event.
