B-Sides: Mynabird

Somewhere between combining the Lana del Rey's sultry vocals with Annie Clark's force and intention, you'll find The Mynabird's Lauren Burhenn. Burhenn, backed by a full band, serves up smart, glittering pop that flutters from ethereal to haunting, all while holding a danceable beat. Now, with the release of their latest album Lovers Know, the band offers a polished work, proving the acclaim from their 2012 release Generals wasn't simply a fluke.

The Mynabirds will perform in Tucson at The Flycatcher (340 E. Sixth St.) on Monday, Oct. 5. The show starts at 8 p.m. with Bad Bad Hats opening the show. Tickets will be sold at the door the day of the show for $10 or online in advance for $8 via www.statestidepresents.com. It is a 21 and over event.
