B-Sides: Futuristic

While Tucson's hip-hop scene continues to rise, our neighbors to the north have their own ace in the hole in rapper transplant Futuristic. With his most recent release, Coast 2 Coast, charting at number 12 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, Futuristic is certainly making a name for Phoenix's rap game. His loud, dramatic (think Inception trailer) and bombastically titled "The Greatest" offers the DIY hype marketing the rapper is known for, which earned him a feature in Forbes just last month.

Futuristic will play at The Rock (136 N. Park Ave.) on Sunday, March 13. Tickets are $15 for general admission or $50 for meet and greet ticket with a photo and signing with the man himself. You can buy yours at www.rocktucson.com. Doors for the show open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tucson's Marley B, Cryptic Wisdom and Tommy Will open the concert. It is an all ages event.
