Future of Hip Hop

Rapper Earl Sweatshirt might only be 21, but he's already a star for many hip hop aficionados. As a member of L.A.-based hip hop collective Odd Future, he was discovered by hipster rap favorite Tyler, The Creator in 2009 when Sweatshirt was just 15. Call him a prodigy but his ability to craft unique rhymes, which often pattern mid-sentence rather than at the end, laden with clever wordplay has many comparing him to MF Doom.

Earl Sweatshirt is performing live at Rialto Theatre, located at 318 E. Congress St., on Tuesday, May 19. The show kicks off with New York rapper Remy Banks at 8 p.m. with doors at 7 p.m. You can buy tickets for the all ages event in advance at the Rialto Theatre box office or online for $23. Tickets will also be sold at the door the day of the show for $25.
