Instead, open up to the possibility that music can be more than hooks and catchy phrases. Maybe it's about creating a soundscape that transports you to a place or time you've never been before. Focus. Marathon-like songs span 10 minutes centering on intricate bass lines, not quite telling a full-narrative, but definitely painting a picture and setting the scene.
You can catch Boyd at the record store, located at 415 N. Fourth Ave. on Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. The show has a suggested donation of $5 for Boyd, who is touring and will be joined by local ambient artist Ryan Chavira and lo-fi singer-songwriter Casey Golden.
