FIFTEEN YEARS OF CHE

You might love the patio, or maybe you can't get enough of the jukebox. You might like going to Che's Lounge (350 N. Fourth Ave.) simply because they have a bathroom wallpapered in innuendo-filled ads from the '70s. This weekend, you can celebrate all of those reasons for digging this Tucson institution and more when the lovably divey little joint hosts its 15-year anniversary.

The three-day event will feature drink specials, giveaways and top secret surprises, along with some of Tucson's favorite local acts performing live. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, Che's back patio will turn into the party kick-off zone. However, on Saturday, the fun will be pulled outside and onto the street for a special block party celebration with live, local music flooding onto Seventh Street between Fourth and Hoff avenues. Tucson-by-way-of-Nogales act The Jons will get crowds dancing with Latin rock fusion and Fourkiller Flats will play a rare set. Wrapping up the event on Sunday, Gabriel Sullivan and Billy Sedlmayr will lend their musical storytelling abilities to the event.

The 21 and over event is free to attend. For more information on this and other Che's Lounge events, visit
