B-Sides: Cafe Jaleo

Unless you're planning a time travelling vacation back to pre-embargo Havana, it might be a good idea to head to the Rialto Theatre (318 E. Congress St.). That's because international big band nonet Café Jaleo will be presenting the music of the Buena Vista Social Club live. With the genres that defined Cuban music in that time, such as mambo, charanga, rumba and son, the ensemble from the U.S., Cuba, Columbia, Mexico and more will offer up an explosive sound geared to get you dancing.

Café Jaleo will be bringing that bit of musical nostalgia on Saturday, Jan. 9. Tickets for the show are $22 at the door the day of or $20 in advance. You can purchase yours and find more information on this and other Rialto events by visiting

www.rialtotheatre.com. The show starts at 9 p.m. with doors at 8 p.m. It is an all ages event.
