MISTER TAMBOURINE MAN

You probably know Joel Gion as the sunglass sporting, fisherman's beanie wearing, tambourine playing hype man for the pioneering neo-psych act Brian Jonestown Massacre. Well, Gion's going to be at Solar Culture Gallery playing music from his 2014 release "Apple Bonkers" on May 12 and you'll want to be one of the lucky few to get in to see the show. Rumor has it that Gion will be joined by Rob Campanella and Collin Hegna of BJM, who produced Gion's new album, though who knows who else might show up. Like I said—you won't want to miss it.

Another solid reason to catch this Tuesday night show is that locals La Cerca are opening and officially releasing their new record that night. You can get your hands on a copy of "Sunrise for Everyone" at the show, which starts at 9 p.m. at the gallery located at 31 E. Toole Ave. The ten-song LP is released by Xemu Records. Tickets for the show will be sold exclusively at the door for $8.
