Re: “Hell Yes! The 2016 Tucson Weekly Endorsements

You endorsed for Assessor, but not for County School Superintendent? What gives?

Re: “United for the Kids

@GCB1 -- you make a county school Superintendent seem so minor in the grand scheme of public education. Your view is very "pigeon-holed" and forgets that there are INNOVATIVE county superintendents that do more than what your posting details. You should take the time to explore what your local County school office does, beyond the minimalist, administrative duties your posting limits itself to. Rural areas do need help and there are bureaucratic pieces that these candidates should understand. I hope Maria's article about Dr. Arzoumanian provides some of the expert answers vs the speculative ones from these comments.

Re: “TUSD Teacher Dustin Williams is Well on His Way to Make the Ballot for Pima County Superintendent of Schools

@JonathanK -- how else do you think that students under 18 are educated at the County Jail or Juvie? They're educated by highly qualified teachers. They have the same "credentialing" requirements than a teacher at a traditional school district. If you want to know about accountability & teacher certification at the school, then ask, don't speculate. Substitute teachers are necessary; teachers get sick or need training...someone has to cover a classroom. The programs are more innovative than you think.

Re: “A Different Perspective on the Diane Douglas/Board of Education Battles

Hey Wendy...it would be nice if charters were subject to the same financial transparency and accountability standards as school districts -- and I mean every single aspect! Then questions about the integrity of what is reported would be more meaningful. Taking your word for it or another news report doesn't cut it. My tax dollars pay for you -- I demand reporting what you do like we do for school districts.

Re: “Someone Made a Super Creepy One Minute Horror Film

There are so many wrong things w/ this video. My kid better go to sleep w/o me having to look under a bed, in a closet, out the window! #ElCucuy
