Re: “Pleasure Activist

Hey Ruby,
I just noticed this and thanks for the comment! I'm honored to be speaking to the queen of pegging! ;)

I did misspeak about sterilizability (sp?) of rubber blends. I want to clarify that I was definitely not talking about rubber dildos (…). The higher quality rubber harnesses (I'm thinking Aslan) are pthalate and bpa-free and are actually water-proof, so more easily cleanable.

As far as single (2 points) vs. double (3 points), the engineering aspect sounds on point, but many people (including myself) experience a good single strap as anchoring the dildo straight through their body toward the sacrum(ish) area and so it *feels* more stable and a bit more like a projection of the body. Maybe it's not *actually* more stable? With a good quality harness, though, the difference may be negligible. Perhaps I'll have to conduct a strap-on harness sex study on a wide range of people...for the sake of science, that is. ;)

Maybe I can consult with you for my next strap-on/pegging article?

Re: “Pleasure Activist

Thanks for the questions! I'm not sure how to reply to specific comments, so I'll just reply to them here!
Ic69hunter and Brad Stroup (since one answer may answer both your Q's):
I believe it all comes down to how a particular person identifies, rather than how and who they have sex with (I cover some of this in Part 2). For example, there are several male adult film actors who will take jobs acting in gay porn because that's where the money is for them. While some refer to this as "gay for pay", it does not necessarily mean they are gay. They just don't have any issue with having sex with other men. This also applies to lesbian adult film actresses who exclusively star in straight oriented porn. I suppose in that case it would be "straight for pay". Was Rock Hudson straight just because he kissed ladies? This extends to recreational sex, too. Sometimes it's just fun. Or sometimes certain people may vibe a different gender than they present. I guess it could get complicated if you try dissecting desire, gender, and all the rest, but it really doesn't have to be complicated because, ultimately, it's about self-identification- ideally without the need to explain and justify it to all of those around you. (Inevitably, I'll probably still end up dissecting it further in future articles!)
