Released on Earth Day, African Cats focuses on three sets of animal families: pride-leader lion Fang, trying to keep a banished lion from taking over his pride; a lioness named Layla and her cub, Mara; and a cheetah named Sita and her five newborns. I am a huge lover of kittehs (sorry, the Internet has completely ruined me), and I am a huge nerd for narrator Samuel L. Jackson. In any case, this is a captivating, beautiful and occasionally heartbreaking documentary, with beautiful scenery and great narration. If you love cats or animals in general, see this now.
