Re: “Is Ten's Becoming the New Candy Store? (For the Record, That's Not A Good Thing) [UPDATED]

nothing good happens after 1 am at a strip club any where in the us. however in sweeden at 1 am in the summer you're wearing sunglasses for a reason. our strip joints are marginal at best, and the cliental is wacked out of their minds. i have stories from the 60-70's and although there weren't the shootingd, there were plenty of stompings.

Re: “The My Big Fat Greek Restaurant at the Foothills Mall Has Closed

ditto on the coments from dlite. we ate at the restaurant when it was on river and there wasnt one dish that hit the target. athens on 4th is far more authentic with local owners and delicious. we especiaally recomend the maranated octopus. we also had a reunion event there with 50+ people and all attendees have asked to have it there again.

Re: “Special Potential

we have had nothing but great meals here and a very resonable wine list. (especially some outstanding roses) living on the west side where the best is Pats, this is a very welcolme addition!

Re: “Agustin Brasserie Opens Today

OK. What a blast of a restaurant and great environmental space. Yes there were hickups as they have been opened for a week or so. The food is what bistro food should be. The staff is attentive (maybe overly so) and the owner repeatedly stopped by every table the entire time we were there. There was a festival going on outside the restaurant with music and games, stilt walkers but no problem parking. But back to the food. Excellent true bistro onion soup, great pommes frite avec biftec (pepper and mustrd sauce!!!!!) and a pretty good duck confit with fantastic mashed potatoes. creme brule was done perfectly with the carmilized top and you know if it is right or wrong from the first bite. they need to add expresso to finish out the meal, but I'm sure that will come. solid inexpensive wine list and a serious bar with plenty of seats. I say A-/ B+ right from the start with an arrow pointing up.

Re: “Media Watch

dont always agree with john, but he certainly has local participation on his show from the pols, biz & the arts. too bad the current mayor never showed up again after his statement that a hotel will be rising in the next year.

Re: “Danehy

I'm late in my comment but not wrong. I figured that the Tucson Loonies (not to be confused with Canadien $$) would be out in force. The second comment regarding this column is perfect illustration. I send Tucson stories to friends all over the world and they cant wait for the next blast. By the way dorky boy,aka rocknroll, this isnt france, and although I see alot of Cone heads on 4th we are far enough away that we really dont need to consider the french relative unless we are spealing of fries. BTW, Reginas name rhymes perfectly with a C word that needs to be used more often when we speak of our female elected officials. It is interesting to watch Tucson the city fade into obscurity as every where around it flourishes. Overall I think Tom's comparison to a Coen Brothers" movie is very positive. I would have compared Tucson the city to George Romero's movie "The Night of the Living Dead". Hey, do you think Regina is working the sequal, "The Life of The Dead Who Don't Know It" set in Tucson' Barrio Hollywood?
