Re: “The Weekly Tate: Khalil Tate and Arizona Chomping at the Bit to Host Oregon State

The University of Arizona now wants to sell Alcohol at the McKale Center and the Arizona Stadium; yet another example of the focus of this "University"; ($$$$$) and a complete disregard for the Health and Safety of those on Campus during these University sponsored Bacchanalias; as well as those Driving from these Bacchanalias "under the influence". It will also encourage the use of Alcohol by under age Students.

For Health and Saftey reasons these efforts to obtain Licenses for the Sale of Alcohol should be rejected!!! The Faculty Senate at the UofA must weight in on this issue and the current situation in the UofA Athletic Program.

Re: “The Weekly Take: DeAndre Ayton leads Arizona into tonight's season opener against NAU

The Athletic Program at the University of Arizona, as with other Universities in this Country, creates the environment for Corruption that we are currently witnessing. This is Big Business!!... providing millions of dollars for the University and, as well, are Feeder Programs for Professional Sports. The Athletic Programs, as such, must be Dismantled and Restructured.

The University, Board of Regents and University Administration, kowtows to Alumni that support the Athletic Programs as they current exist. Why?...the $$$$$ that the "donate"....and...their Identity as a Person is inextricably linked to these Athletic Programs providing an opportunity to participate in Home Game "tailgating"...a euphemism for a University sponsored Bacchanalia!

It remain to be seen, if the new UofA President, Dr. Bobby Robins, has the Interest, Courage, and Clout to Dismantle and Restructure the Athletic Program. The University is First and Foremost an Academic Institution...NOT a Feeder Institution for Professional Sports!!!

Re: “State Grades Are All About the A's and F's

"....Most education leaders know you have to protect your teachers from unhealthy feedback and focus on human perception of quality. Good teachers and good principals know the relative performance of all their teachers...." Completely Meaningless!!!

Student/School Scores on AzMerit will indicate the Effectiveness of the Schools/Districts Academic / Instructional Programs, so that, if necessary, remedial action can be taken; that Students are being taught properly and/or effectively learning the required body of information per Subject Area so as to achieve their Career Goals.

Standard Testing (AzMerit) = Teacher/School/District Accountability!!!

Re: “State Grades Are All About the A's and F's

Pray tell how do you measure "Student Growth"? Answer: Standardized Testing!!

If we are concerned about the generally dismal state of our System of Public Education in Arizona, we would not hesitate to supports efforts at improvement. We cannot continue with our heads in the sand, and, under the shibboleth, Local Control of Education watch passively as our System of Public Education becomes, internationally, at best, Second Rate!! The viability of our Democracy and National Security are in jeopardy.

Given the wide classroom instructional heterogeneity within Public Schools/Districts, it is necessary to have some State objective measure so as to determine if Students are being taught properly and/or effectively learning the required body of information per Subject Area so as to achieve their Career Goals. This is the sole purpose of Standardized Assessment Examinations. AzMerit is such an Assessment Examination and will indicate the effectiveness of the Schools/Districts Academic Program, so that, if necessary, remedial action can be taken.

Re: “Flake: "Mr. President, I Rise Today To Say, 'Enough'"

To his credit, Sen. Jeff Flake, in deciding not to seek re-election and his continued criticism of Donald Trump, has put the viability of our Constitutional principles, the very fabric of our democracy, above the Republican Party's support of Donald Trump.

Congress must use its Constitutional authority is assessing the threat that Donald Trump has posed and continues to pose to our inherent diversity and protected freedoms, as well as the threat he poses to our national security.

Mr. Trump, I my view, is NOT fit to service in the Office of President of the United States. He is Mentally Unstable and has undermined the very nature of our Constitutional Democracy with Three Co-Equal Branches of Government, as well as our Independent and Free Press. His statements regarding His Russian Mentor and "Friendship" with the Thug Putin threatens the National Security of our Country.

It remains to be determined the nature of the contacts He and his Minions have had with Russia before, during, and after the Presidential Election. His statements during the Election encouraging Russia to hack Servers of the DNC and Mrs. Clinton are sufficient, in my view, in making him Complicit in undermining the validity of this Election and are sufficient Grounds for His Impeachment. This, of course, is a decision that Congress will make when these Congressional Investigations are Complete.

All Partisanship Must be put aside in the evaluation of the evidence and in determining if Donald Trump should be removed from Office.

Notwithstanding, Donald Trump, in my view, must be removed from office forthwith!

Re: “The Fix Is In: Free Spay and Neuter Event Hits Town This Weekend

Would it be wonderful if Trump minions and Trump himself could be Politically Spayed or Neutered so as to prevent them from Transmitting their Political Poison that is Destroying the the very fabric of our Democracy and Leading this Country into World War Three.?
