Although Democrats are more likely to get a national cannabis decriminalization or legalization bill across the finish line, they haven't been very interested in that until very recently, and I am sure both parties are interested in getting on the right side of history at this point.
Tucson is a city that doesnt require development into a central area. We can have growth without pulverizing 4th Ave. I grew up on the north side but always cherished my visits to 4th. The overwhelming concentration of power in the hands of the wealthy will absolutely unravel Tucsons downtown character as soon as it becomes hip for elites to buy their third condo there, displacing year round residents. Or where restauranteurs think its a great place to open another local-looking-foreign-invested location into a growth market. If we want to stop this in Tucson, we have to accept that uneven wealth distribution anywhere hits us at home too.
This absurd fear of immigrants is taking away our civil liberties, with 2/3rds of all Americans living 100 miles from all borders. Meanwhile, Americans are raping and mass-killing Americans every day. Americans are taking your money away from you. If its jobs you're worried about, maybe you should think about how people breed jobs as fast as they need them, especially when all the capital isn't getting sucked up to the top and then flying out to some overseas bank.
