    Re: “Danehy
I am the "Ian" spoken of in this article. Between fits of laughter at Mr. Danehy's descriptions of myself, I noticed with gratitude the author's efforts to humanize us "gun nuts". In a day and age where firearm owners are often valued somewhere just above the average mosquito, I (and other) firearm owners much appreciate any recognition that we are, in fact, normal people with hobbies that just aren't in everyone's taste. Once I spoke with Mr. Danehy about his discomfort with guns, and I understood and respected his position. Not everyone has to share my enjoyment of recreational shooting, and I will never force my opinion on someone. All I and most gun owners ask is that people not say to us that we can't enjoy our hobbies anymore. Great article, I hope those unfamiliar with shooting sports gained some insight into a wonderfully enjoyable sport! And Tom, next time I'm in town, you're more than welcome to join me at the range.
