I've actually been a big fan since way, way back. I fact, I bought WitchDoctor on cassette. A couple of years later I bought "Auntie Ramos" on CD, and then the first 2 Sand Rubies CDs as well. {I picked up the "Sidewinder Sessions" CD within the past few years.} We don't Do That Anymore is still one of my favorite tunes.

I also picked up a couple of the Luminario CDs within the past few years.

Why these guys {and gals} didn't get a bigger following is beyond me. They certainly had "the chops" as one reviewer put it. Incidentally, WXRT {here in Chicago} used to play We Don't Do that Anymore" quite a bit. It was in fairly heavy rotation for at least a couple of years, right around 1990-91 as I recall.

I actually had to call Rich Hopkins at home to get a copy of the Sand Rubies Live CD. He and I had a nice conversation. I sent him a check and he sent me the CD, which I enjoy to this day.

    Good mémoires!
