Re: “UA Stevie Eller Dance Theatre

Went to last night's performance of Positions of Power. First, having over the years been to dance in NYC, Jacob's Pillow, LA, and San Francisco and having been terribly disappointed by what we had seen in Phoenix when we moved there in 2002, we didn't expect much from dance in Tucson. Still, we had to give Artifact a change. Right? Absolutely right. Just terrific. Musically it was a delight. The choreography was powerful especially A Painted Devil. And the dancing was quite good, in a few cases outstanding. Thank you, ADP for giving us dance that we could truly enjoy.

Re: “Claytoonz: Where's Mike Pence?

How sad that the narrative can be taken over by trolls looking to attack a different politician. Yes, we need a cartoon about JB and yes we need clarity on what he may or may not have done, but that doesn't alter the facts behind this scathing cartoon.

Re: “Local Chefs Ask For Help: Order Takeout Once A Week for Our Survival

I not only try to take out at least once a week, but I always add a tip. You know, there are lots of people in that restaurant who rely on tips.

Re: “Claytoon of the Day: Just Peachy

Women are not a unified voting group. Many are more concerned with the economic and social anxiety than with larger social issues and a great many are more concerned with the issue of abortion than with anything else. So, yes, many women may abhor some of the things Mr. Trump says, but they won't consider that the salient topic. As for Ivanka and her role in women's empowerment; that strikes me as a bit of a farce. She says lots of good things, but she really doesn't know what it means for a woman with kids at home and no secure income to move forward. If she did, she would be pushing more for childcare, education, and of course for safety from domestic violence: none of which have I seen her speak out on.

Re: “Claytoon of the Day: A Rising Threat

A really horrifying picture of the future comes to mind, one in which there are armed guards at every mosque, church, temple, school, office, etc. Tombstone may not be just the past but also our future. For my part, it isn't OK.

Re: “Claytoon of the Day: Diary Of A Wimpy President

Of course, the two perpetrators in the Houston attack have not been identified as Undocumented or even aliens. Gosh, I guess reality isn't relevant when prejudice is in play.

I think use of Whimpy would have been more appropriate after his hamburger meal for the athletes. I don't know that we're done with the wall madness.

Re: “A Matter of Conviction

Much as I respect and share the idea of humanitarian aid and much as I, too, want to help these wanderers in our desert, I have to agree with the courts. We need to care for our public lands and that is why we have regulations about entering them. Also, civil disobedience is meaningless if there are no consequences. What makes me angry is that while these four good people were found guilty for trying to help others, the gang of thugs who took over a federal facility a few years back all got off. They only want to ruin our federal lands by overgrazing and to deny the worth of government. I guess in the end, we see in these two cases a worrying trend in our legal system, a trend towards greed. Just one more reason we need a new approach to politics and a new party in America.
