A clean quiet place with soothing jazz wafting in the background; you are instantly put at ease. But the truly remarkable aspect of the place is quite simply the food! Fresh crisp veggies and generous portions make the Garland a stand out location. Some may remember the Garland from years ago when the quality of the food began to declined, but with new ownership, it's back and better than ever. Very vegetarian friendly, with ample choices for meatlovers. There is now a mix of traditional vegetarian bistro fare and Vietnamese specialties that create a unique and balanced menu. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls are "to die for" and the Pho (pronouced Fa) a rice noodle soup with beef or chicken, may be, in my humble opinion, the best in town. Even an ordinary item, like a tuna sandwich on toast, is hearty with tons of fresh veggies and orange slices instead of chips or fries. Great flavorful salads and subtle touches like handmade tofu, fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade bread make for a pleasurable and satisfying experience. Most certainly, I feel people should rediscover this oasis in the desert.
