I wonder if Emil Franzi knows about "Pocket Money"? He should be aware of it because it qualifies as a "modern day Western". If Emil was living in Tucson in 1972 and knows any good trivia or anecdotes about the making of "Pocket Money", please let me know.
I agree with "Shockhits" picks. Another favorite is "Copkillers". It is pure 1970's drive-in grindhouse trash. The filmmakers came to Tucson to take a break from shooting porn in L.A. The so-called plot is about a botched drug deal that results in a murder spree in a stolen EeeGee's van. The film premiered at the Apache in 1973. Watch for the scene featuring cameos by Channel 9's Jim Ferguson, and Charles Kendrick of "Mr.K's BBQ". Rent it at Casa.
