Troy grew up in the small town of Sierra Vista, Arizona, which had few bassists, so he was always musically in demand. He moved to Tucson immediately after high school and earned a bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television at the University of Arizona. His bass heroes include Sir Paul, The Ox, Dee Murray, Peter Cetera, Chris Squire, Mike Rutherford, John Wetton and Tony Levin. Troy has been active off and on in Tucson music. In the ’80’s, he played with short-lived bands Ariel, The Distractions, Tango 21 and Milagro. He has been a broadcaster, actor, graphic designer, photographer and choir director. He has played with Crystal Stark, The Tucson Pops Orchestra, Smallvox, and the legendary Loren Dircks in Gila Bend. A 2012 TAMMY Award winner for Best Bassist, Troy is bassist/vocalist for Arizona's Sassiest Songstress LeeAnne Savage, The Tangelos, and The Minstrel's Ghost.
