We live in one of the most special ecosystems in the world—the only Sonoran desert in the country. Yet for most of us, it's rare to see the cool native animals and plants we live amongst, at least on the regular and/or up close. Enter our beloved Desert Museum, a living natural-history museum with all the benefits of a zoo but fewer of the sucky parts. Of course, top-notch habitats come at a price—all the more reason for us to visit often, become members, donate. The species here are sharing their home with us, after all, and the Desert Museum truly shows us their value.
