B-Sides: RITUAL

MOURNING RITUAL

Whether you decide to take the gamble on Gang of Four's "reunion show" (or as I like to call it, Gang of One Plus a Couple of Young Dudes) at Rialto Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 20, you can still get your dark dance kicks for the week by heading to Surly Wench Pub (424 N. Fourth Ave.). For the past few months, the Fourth Avenue watering hole has become the home to one of the Old Pueblo's broodiest, moodiest dance nights: RITUAL. The night offers up "goth, alt, witch house, industrial," and more for a very different kind of dance party than the top 40s nights you may have grown accustomed to.

So don your blackest apparel, smear on some black lipstick, grab your coven, wipe that smile off your face and head to Surly Wench for the witches' Sabbath on Saturday, Oct. 17. DJs for the night include Plastic Disease and Black Flagg, with visuals courtesy of Lana del Rabies. The music runs from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. and there is a $5 cover. It is a 21 and over event.
