B-Sides: Midtown Island/Burger

BURGER ROUNDUP

Although I previously reported that Midtown Island Studio was to cease all music recording for the indefinite future, the good news is, that's no longer true. Matt Rendon of the Resonars (and the soon-to-be-released psych act Butterscotch Cathedral—more on that soon) is keeping his spot open to local and national bands alike, offering unique insight specifically into the world of '60s pop psychedelia. It's just those proclivities that keep national DIY labels like Burger Records interested and that's why that label likely decided to release an all Midtown Islands compilation, showcasing Rendon's work.

The cassette sampler features The Resonars, Harsh Mistress and Burning Palms locally, but also national acts like Mystic Braves and Mr. Elevator & the Brain Hotel, all recorded here in Tucson. So make sure to get your very own copy of the Burger Records and Midtown Island Studio release. For information on where to pick up a cassette here in town, visit the Midtown Island Studios website.
