Transport yourself into a dream state—one filled with saccharine tones and mellow drum machine beats topped with lyrics that seep downtrodden longing through their content as much as delivery. It might feel like you're in your own low budget indie flick, but really you'll be at Tiny Town Gallery on Thursday, July 9 watching Advance Base. The project, which comes from Owen Ashworth who used to perform under the moniker Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, is laced with Rhodes-based keys that bounce from plucky and bright to a more earnest composition culled from the debut release of A Shut-In's Prayer and the forthcoming Nephew in the Wild.
Advance Base will performing at Tiny Town (174 E. Toole Ave.) for your auditory pleasure with Deschtuco and one of the Old Pueblo's more recent musical additions, Things That Aren't Words (a.k.a. Adam Nixon). The show begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door the day of for $5.
