BAYOU BEATS
Tucson doesn't always get a taste of that sweet New Orleans funk, but on Tuesday, May 19, Quintron & Miss Pussycat will be hitting the town with just that. Their jams have been labeled "swampy" on more than one occasion and you can expect a very odd and entertaining electronic fusion show to say the least. Joined by punk-in-spirit with a touch of synth tourmates NOTS of Memphis, Tennessee and locals Whoops! and Acorn Bcorn, the night will showcase a helter-skelter range of style that is as much about the performance art side of the show as it is the music itself. Whoops! will also be releasing a new cassette that night.
You can catch all four bands at The HangArt on Tuesday night. The venue is located near Sixth and Sixth at 512 N. Echols Ave. The event also promises both barbecue and a puppet show included in the $8 (at the door) admission price. It's an all ages event that begins at 8 p.m.
