El Tambó is back for a summer kickoff event at Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St. On Friday, May 15 at 8 p.m., the Plaza will turn into a tropical dance party. The musical entertainment will be two bands from California making their Tucson debut: YANGA and El-Haru Kuroi. Past players, DJ MUSA and host and El Tambó creator DJ Dirtyverbs will perform as well. The musicians will play Cumbia, Afro-Colombian, reggaeton, dancehall and other music styles. The free concert is for ages 21 and up. Check out the event's Facebook page for more info.
