8 Places to Get Easter Brunch this Sunday

Regardless of whether you're planning on observing the Easter holiday on Sunday, April 5, there's plenty to celebrate this year with eight local restaurants serving up some great brunch specials. Fresh fish, roasted lamb and a handful of Benedict options are available to make your Easter Sunday as tasty as possible.

Cup Cafe
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Hotel Congress' historic little cafe will be serving up three different upscale entree options along with two desserts for Easter. On the savory side, a smoked salmon Benedict, a pork porterhouse with cheddar grits and a rabbit hash with sweet potato, turkey chorizo, fried eggs and bearnaise sauce will provide some stick-to-the-ribs fare, while the fried bread pudding bites and peep s'mores will finish the meal off on a sweet note. Penca
Along with some of Penca's regular brunch offerings like corn cakes with black beans and eggs and achiote pork hash, Easter brunchers can opt for a roasted salmon dish with tepache-glazed carrots and bright spring onions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. For dinner, the restaurant off of Broadway Boulevard will be offering a duck leg confit special as well as roasted salmon and cream of asparagus. Bluefin
For you seafood fanatics, you won't want to miss Bluefin's last Easter brunch event before the restaurant closes on Sunday, May 24. This year, chef Jim Murphy is offering a special surf and turf dish for brunch and dinner as well as a seasonal finfish offering in addition to the regular brunch menu. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the seafood bistro located in the Casa Adobes Plaza. Reservations can be made by calling 531-8500.

Union Public House
Union Public House is also offering Easter brunch from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. With waffles, omelets, scrambles and more, you can get your basics covered at Union. However, the restaurant is also serving up short rib if you're looking for something a little more hearty for your Sunday meal. Reserve your place for Easter by calling 329-8575.

Wildflower

The Coronet
Over at The Coronet, orange blossom cocktails, berry lavender shortcake, hot crossed buns, mimosas and bread pudding French toast will satisfy your Sunday sweet tooth. On the savory side, Dragoon session sausage in a brioche bun, curried chicken salad and Middle Eastern egg stuffed tomatoes with meira cheese will be available as well. Acacia 
If you prefer your brunch buffet-style, Acacia is the Easter restaurant for you. You can reserve your spot in the buffet line by calling 232-0101. Adults pay $49.95 plus tax and gratuity while children aged five to ten pay $24 plus tax and gratuity. Children four and under eat free. The menu features baked brie in puff pastry, farm fresh eggs with pico de gallo, shrimp and more and a rotisserie fired leg of lamb. It can be viewed in full on the Acacia website. Agustin Kitchen
Last but not least, Agustin Kitchen will be offering a special four-course prix-fixe menu from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for $35 per person plus tax and gratuity courtesy of chef Ryan Clark. The Easter menu, which will be served in addition to regular Agustin brunch offerings, will serve up house cured Berkshire ham with mashed potatoes and green bean almondine, as well as a carrot cake with caramel marshmallow.
