Keep Tucson Legal Clinic Needs Volunteers

It's a new year, which comes with great opportunities for you to do some good in our city. Keep Tucson Together is looking for volunteers to help handle increased traffic in its DACA applicants legal clinic. They are also looking for sponsors for a proposed outreach session to provide more info, guidance and forms to applicants qualified under President Barack Obama's recent executive action on non-U.S. nationals living in the U.S. On Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m. at the Joel Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave., lower level meeting room, is the legal clinic educational session for volunteers. Attorney Margo Cowan will present the eligibility requirements for deferred action, provide guidance on how people can prepare to apply, what documents to gather and answer questions. A co-sponsor is needed for this event and others. Keep Tucson Together will also do on-going weekly educational forums starting Thursday, Jan. 15, at Pueblo High School, 5:30 p.m.
