CHRISTMAS EVE DINING OPTIONS

Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24, is almost as huge as Christmas in a lot of cultures. This is never more true than with Catholic Italian-Americans. We love a good feast for any reason, but Christmas Eve brings "The Feast of The Seven Fishes." In today's day and age we are all really busy around the holidays, so why not start your own family tradition letting some of our wonderful local chefs cook up your Christmas Eve feast? I have listed a few options for you, whether you eat fish, or not:

Tavolino Ristorante  Italiano, 2890 E. Skyline Drive Christmas - serving the Traditional Feast of Seven Fishes, call 531-1913 for details and reservations.

Bluefin, 7053 N. Oracle Road Kingfisher, 2564 E. Grant Road Christmas Eve:  open until 8 p.m. serving from the regular dinner menu. Call 530-8500 (Bluefin) or 323-7739 (Kingfisher) for reservations.

Acacia Real Food and Cocktails, 3001 E. Skyline Drive Christmas Eve: Special a la carte holiday menu from 4-9 p.m. Call 232-0101 for reservations.

Agustin Kitchen, 100 S Avenida del Convento Suite #150 A la carte special menu ($12-$45) featuring Arizona prime beef, slow roasted leg of lamb, Santa's special cocktail and  more.  Seatings from 4-9 p.m.  Call 520-398-5382 for reservations.

HERE'S THE SCOOP

Isabella's Ice Cream has opened inside the Rincon Market, 2315 E. Sixth St. Isabella takes pride in serving all natural, locally sourced ice cream via scoops, fresh made cones, bon bons, custom ice cream sandwiches and sundaes. They served their offical first scoop on Wednesday, Dec. 10. There will be a special grand opening party at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. For more information, visit isabellasicecream.com.

On Monday, Dec. 15, Cashew Cow officially opened at 16 South Eastbourne Ave. in the Broadway Village. This is not your usual dairy frozen treat, as the name leads you to believe; this is a cashew-based "Ice Cream." From what I hear, it is to die for too.
