Tucson Is Burning

There isn't another event in town that brings together some of Tucson's best drag queen and king talent and some well-intentioned volunteers happy to sing their hearts out to help the Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network.

TIHAN, which brings Tucson's religious communities together to help those affected by HIV/AIDS, brought in a record crowd of 400 people at Turnabout last year and raised more than $17,000.

Entertainment for the evening includes hosts Janee' Starr and Tempest DuJour, along with Don't Blink Burlesque, a team from IBT's Bar and Food, Regine Ray, Musical Mayhem Cabaret, Lucinda Holliday, Fluxx Productions and Dante Celeiro, Pima County Health Department and Stella Virgin, Grecia Montes D'Occa (reigning Miss Gay Arizona America), a team from Tucson Pride, Di Va and Anton Smith and Human Project.

The show is Sunday, Aug. 31, at the DoubleTree, 445 S. Alvernon Way. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Sponsorships are available ($250 and $500 levels available) and tables of 10 are available now for $150. Individual tickets are $15 each (in advance) or $20 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Scott at scott@tihan.org or (520) 299-6647 ext 202.
