'Last Comic Standing' Returns in 2014

NBC has decided to give Last Comic Standing another shot.

The reality show helped comedians like Ralphie May, Kathleen Madigan, Alonzo Bodden, Amy Schumer and Doug Benson kickstart their careers. There was some controversy when season two judges Drew Carey and Brett Butler were upset when the network picked a different winner then who the judges originally voted for. The show originally aired in 2003, and was cancelled after seven seasons due to poor ratings.

Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz are the executive producers:

Producing pair inked a first-look deal with Universal TV earlier this year, and the “Last Comic Standing” revival is the first project to emerge from the pact.

The eight season is expected to premiere in the summertime, and a host has yet to be announced. Maybe some Tucson comedians will give it a shot? I'll take my phone off vibrate just in case.
