Jon Wayne and The Pain, playing The Hut this Saturday, may not be at celebrity status just yet, but they certainly seem to be gaining popularity with reggae-rock lovers, with fans often referring to their music as "redemption reggae." They operate in a similar musical genre as Sublime (and people like Sublime) with an island-style mix of ska, reggae and rock, and Jon Wayne's vocals mesh well with the different genres, but they still remain distinct enough to not be a knockoff act.
