Shirley Scott (D): 51.1 percent
Tyler Vogt (R): 48.7 percent
Takeaways: Likely Dem sweep, although a difference of about 1,700 votes makes Scott/Vogt too close to call.
The difference in mail-in turnout reported yesterday by the city—27 percent versus the 41 percent reported on Monday—is due to 1) some ballots needing signature verification or some other check, and 2) the accidental inclusion in the 41 percent figure of a number of ballots that were returned as undeliverable by the Postal Service, says Jim Nintzel.
No further results are expected to be reported by the city tonight.
