The level of glamour and style the Powhaus crew are attempting to pull off with their latest event (the first since the organization regrouped a bit after a busy 2010) outclasses anything I'd be able to achieve, but if you're looking for your high fashion moment in the sun, mark August 19th on your calendar:

Tucson seldom if ever gives one the excuse to exhibit one’s high fashion. And when is the last time there was a Red Carpet for the Who’s Who of Tucson to exhibit their scandalous outfits and nefarious flavors of the week (their dates)?
Powhaus Productions is aware of this deficiency and is dedicated to fixing the problem with the best event we have ever planned. This event will be very much the sort of Powhaus event that you have come to expect from us. There will be endless entertainment. There will be gorilla performances. There will be the permissive environment that enables you to wear and do things that rarely if ever happen elsewhere. But this time, we provide a high fashion celebrity fantasy.
We realize some people may say, This is not NY or Hollywood. You are just pretending.” Powhaus says, “Fuck you. Tucson is not pretending.”
We are kicking off a trend of doing such shows with more than just a fashion night. We want HIGH fashion.
Alexander McQueen took a straight boring runway, and turned it into an epic performance space. He took fashion and infused it with high art concepts. He took challenging avant-guard concepts and presented them to the popular fashion world with fierce fortitude. He was daring, debaucherous, skilled, and challenging, all traits esteemed and encouraged by Powhaus and an obvious choice for our first (and not last) real red carpet fashion event.
This is the first full Powhaus Production event to occur at Plush, Tucson.
Expect to see Powhaus reboot its live event production at Plush, Rialto and other venues. We took a break to tighten up our business and work on our media output. We also wanted to rethink our live events. We owe it to our audience to keep pushing into new territory, so we can provide you with the best events. Tucson is exploding all around. Come explode with us.
Part of the proceeds for this show will go towards PAWhaus, the animal rescue program Powhaus started this spring.
