Meet the Tequila Party

A new voter-registration effort called the Tequila Party is aiming to get more Latinos involved in the political process. I've been hearing more and more about the group in recent days, including this tidbit from the Phoenix New Times:

DeeDee Blase, Arizona's Republican immigration activist, has a message for the Tea Party:

"Move aside, the Tequila Party is here," she said at an afternoon press conference.

The Tequila Party is a non-partisan voter-registration outfit designed to increase Latino political participation across the country.

Blase announced at today's event that the group plans on hosting concerts and parties all across the country, from Los Angeles to Miami, to register voters. It's working in conjunction with Voto Latino, a traditional registration organization.

Personally, a tequila party sounds like a lot more fun than a tea party, but that's just me.
